I needed a new roof on a building with many architectural challenges

My entire experience with Klam Construction was great! From the knowledge and expertise that came from Abel, to the efficiency and hard work of his employees, I cannot say enough about this company! The price was really fair and the quality of workmanship was excellent! I would totally recommend this company to anyone with roofing issues and would definitely not even consider using anyone else, again! They exceeded any expectations I had!

Very efficient in the work performed

Their attention to detail was exemplary. They are one of the few roofing companies I found that were willing and able to do cosmetic carpentry work as well.

It is prefect, as perfect as you can get as far as what we've seen. Everybody that sees our roof says it is just beautiful, and we couldn't be happier.

I needed my old roof (2+ layers) removed, and a new roof installed (plywood, shingles, vents, flashing). I also needed 2 large skylights installed, which involved removing and reinforcing rafters. The cost I listed includes the price of the skylights.
Abel was always very punctual and professional. His team was courteous and worked hard. They completed everything in two days. The work was done exactly as asked and is clearly of good quality. Abel met with me several times before construction, because I had questions about ventilation and skylight options. He willingly answered my questions and adjusted the scope of work when I shifted my plan. He also met with me after construction to walk through the work and answer any final questions. He and his team were personable, and they clearly care about pleasing the customer. They took extra care to protect my new deck and garden. They pointed out issues that they found (like an ailing chimney) and advised us to keep an eye on it. Also, their labor is guaranteed (as are their roofing products), so they will come and fix anything that isn't quite right in the years to come. Klam's bid was competitive - it was the best relative to the quality we were promised and received.

Beyond pleased and happy with every step of the project! Abel and Katie were wonderful. Answered every question throughout the process, were readily available to keep me informed. Crew took extra precaution to protect my landscaping. Anything they needed to move (birdbath, hose reel, garden wagons) were returned to the exact spot. Thoroughly cleaned up the yard and driveway of smallest debris. Project could not have gone any more efficient or smoother. Quality workmanship and quality customer service. Klam Construction is just the best!

Tear off and replace the roof from my house and detached garage.

I called four companies for estimates on tearing off the existing roof and re-roofing my house and detached garage. Three returned my call and sent someone to my house to evaluate the job. Abel Serrano, the president of Klam Construction, was the only one to actually provide a written bid. The estimators for the other two companies pointed out some architectural features that would make roofing cumbersome and the fact that it would not be possible to place a drop box next to the house. One of the other estimators told me his company would install ridgetop vents, without actually investigating whether or not they would be appropriate for my house. Abel took me into the attic to investigate the airflow and showed me why rooftop vents would not work. Another estimator told me that his company was already booked until late spring and said that, if anyone bid less than $25,000, and I was comfortable with the company, I should hire them. In other words, of the four companies I contacted, Klam Construction was the only one interested in re-roofing my house and garage. Abel prepared a detailed bid, with diagrams showing what materials would be used in each area and the exact placement of vents. He told me about his experience and the history of Klam Construction. I was impressed with his thoroughness and the fact that he listened to what I wanted. I was also pleasantly surprised that he said Klam could do the job soon. This winter has been unusually cold and snowy, which delayed the beginning somewhat but, when his crew arrived, they worked very hard from dawn until after dark until the job was done. Even though the temperature was 20 degrees, the crew seemed happy, which made me happy too. One of them even whistled while he worked. They cleaned the area at the end of each day, using a magnetic roller to pick up any stray metal and a leaf blower to get rid of the dust. They finished the main part of the job in two days and a few hours, right before the return of the snow. Abel explained that the temperature has to be higher for the material used on the flat part of the roof, so they installed another material in the meantime and will return when the weather is warmer to put on the permanent covering. He said I could pay the final $1000 when that is done. They left my yard cleaner and neater than it was when they started. I'm very happy with Klam Construction and the work they did for me.
